Privacy Policy

Effective May 15, 2008, The Donor SOURCE egg donation agency began serving the needs of
intended parents and egg donors formerly served by Dream Donations, Inc.

» Visit for more information.

We at Dream Donations are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of those who visit our website (the "Website"). With that in mind, we want you to fully understand what information we gather about you, how we collect and use that information and how you can control the collection and/or use of that information.

Dream Donations is an online service designed to match potential egg recipients with egg donors who have registered with us ("Donors"). In order to accomplish this goal, Donors submit personal information directly to us, which we use to prepare Donor profiles that are available to potential egg recipients who register with Dream Donations ("Recipients") using a password that we provide. Recipients go through an initial registration process online, then follow up with Dream Donations directly to complete the registration process. Once registered, a Recipient may log into the Website and utilize our matching service to find suitable Donors based on their personal criteria. Additionally, Website users may contact Dream Donations by email from time to time and receive responses from members of our staff. The information we receive online from Recipients and other Website users falls into the two following categories:

1. Private Information

"Private Information" means any information that could be used to identify you specifically.

Examples of Private Information include names, mailing addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, passwords and birth dates.

Dream Donations receives Private Information online from Recipients when they register and from Website users who email or otherwise correspond with Dream Donations. Additionally, computer internet protocol addresses ("IP addresses") are collected from most computers automatically when a computer accesses the Website. Other than IP addresses, we collect information about you only when it is provided voluntarily, either during the Recipient registration process or through correspondence. An IP address is either an address assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider that enables the computer to locate and interact with other computers on the Internet.

Dream Donations does not sell information that can be used to identify you specifically or otherwise make such information available to the public (including Website users and anyone who is not either an employee of Dream Donations or an independent contractor or financial institution engaged by Dream Donations in connection with the operation of its business). When third-party contractors receive access to information about you, we require them to adhere to our stated privacy policies and to protect the confidentiality of such information in the course of their engagement by us.

Regarding Private Information, Dream Donations may:

  • Store and process such information to enhance your experience with Dream Donations;
  • Use such information to contact you for informational purposes on behalf of Dream Donations and to welcome you back to the Website;
  • Disclose such information to third parties when we have reason to believe disclosure is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the rights or property of Dream Donations, Website users or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities;
  • Disclose that information to third parties when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by law or a court of competent jurisdiction; and

Dream Donations reserves the right to sell or otherwise transfer information about you along with other business assets of the company if the company (or substantially all of its assets) is sold, acquired or involved in a merger, reorganization or bankruptcy.

2. Non-Identifying Information

"Non-Identifying Information" is information that cannot be used to identify you specifically.

Examples of Non-Identifying Information are age, gender, height, computer operating system, domain name and Internet browser.

Dream Donations receives Non-Identifying Information online from Recipients who register and from Website users who email Dream Donations. Additionally, Dream Donations may obtain certain Non-Identifying Information relating to computer usage when users access and navigate through the Website.

Dream Donations may share Non-identifying Information and "aggregate" information with advertisers, business partners, sponsors and other third parties for lawful purposes. "Aggregate" data is data that describes the demographics, usage, or other characteristics of Website users as a group, but does not identify any user specifically. For example, Dream Donations may share the percentage of female Website users in a given month, the average age of Website users or the most commonly used operating systems among Website users. This data is used for purposes such as customizing the Website's content and delivering a better experience to our users.

Donor and Recipient Profiles

In order to provide its services, Dream Donations prepares and maintains a web profile for each Donor. Each Donor's web profile includes the Donor's photograph and certain Non-Identifying Information provided voluntarily by the Donor subject to a separate written agreement. Donor web profiles are accessible only to Dream Donations and to Recipients using a password. Dream Donations prepares a limited web profile for each Recipient that enables the Recipient to build a preferred Donor list and to make subsequent changes to that list. A Recipient's web profile is accessible only to that Recipient using a password and to Dream Donations.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which went into effect in April 2000, requires operators of certain web sites to do several things before collecting information from children under the age of 13.

We do not provide services to individuals under thirteen years of age, we do not intend to collect any Private Information from such individuals, and in the event we become aware that we have collected any such information, we will delete it from our system immediately.

"Cookies" are small electronic files used to track information to enhance a user's experience on the Website. Dream Donations uses cookies to identify Recipients when they sign into the "My Dream Donors" area of the Website and to maintain information privately as Recipients navigate the Website. No Private Information is placed in these cookies and the cookies are deleted from the Recipient's system when the Recipient signs out of the Website.
